Dermal Fillers - Wesport, CT
Dermal fillers are designed to replace the naturally occurring loss of facial volume that occurs with age. As we lose facial volume, it is common to develop facial wrinkles, sagging skin, skin folds, and those dark circles under the eyes that make us always look tired, even when we are well rested. The resulting restoration of facial fullness and tone from the use of dermal fillers is immediate and typically lasts one year.Schedule An Appointment
What Types of Dermal Fillers Are There?
There are several types of dermal fillers available on the market for cosmetic treatment including; Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm. These products are all very similar, the primary differences being smoothness and molecule size. Dr. Brownell will fit the right dermal filler for the area of application, and for your individual need.
Uses for Dermal Fillers
Dr. Brownell uses Dermal Fillers to:
- Eliminate or reduce dark circles under eyes caused by volume loss
- Fill skin folds on the nasolabial line
- Restore volume back to chin and lower face
- Replenish cheek volume to create more full & higher cheek bones
- Plump lips to create that “pouty” look
- Correct droopy corners on the mouth
- Smooth & fill fine lines around the mouth, nose, eyebrows and jaw line
Dr. Brownell often uses dermal fillers in conjunction with Botox. Dermal fillers are not to be confused with BOTOX®, but they work brilliantly together as a team. BOTOX® reduces lines by relaxing the muscles and dermal fillers address and treat volume loss.
This combination of products both relaxes the muscles and decreases the appearance of wrinkles for a more youthful, smoother, well rested and healthier appearance. This appealing and non-invasive combination procedure has results that can last up to one year.
What can I expect immediately after my treatment?
Because dermal fillers replace a volume loss, the technique of application involves a series of injection using a very fine needle. It is reasonable to expect an element of swelling and/or bruising in the area of treatment. This typically lasts three to ten days. Mineral make-up may be used the day after the procedure to camouflage any area of bruising.
How Long Will My Results Last?
Dermal fillers are absorbed naturally by the body over time. Results vary but typically last nine months to one year. The amount of time depends on the types of filler and the metabolism of the patient. After the initial treatment, subsequent treatments are necessary with time for touch ups. In the same way you arrange annual appointments for your well visits, you may wish to schedule regular visits with Dr. Shaked Brownell to assure to maintain the youthful appearance of your skin.
